Apple’s latest version of its popular wireless earbuds, the AirPods Pro include several features of interest to runners. Here’s our top five.
They’re not called Airpods ‘pro’ for nothing, with industry-leading features for runners and music lovers alike.
1. Hear noise in your surroundings while listening to music:
In addition to high-quality “immersive” sound and a lightweight in-ear design, the earbuds come with two audio modes: Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode. The latter allows you to both listen to music and hear noises in your surrounding environment, for runner safety (particularly when running in traffic-heavy urban environments).
2. Redesigned earbuds and tips:
The AirPods Pro features a new earbud design for a more comfortable fit. The earbuds come with three different sizes of silicone ear tips, with enhanced seals–great for sweaty runs or when running in the rain (IPX4 water-resistant rating).
3. Siri at your command:
Voice-activated Siri allows for hands-free commands to play songs, adjust the volume, call someone or get directions along your running route.
4. Long battery life:
The AirPods Pro offer up to five hours of listening time with Active Noise Cancellation and Transparency mode turned off, and up to 4.5 hours of listening time with Active Noise Cancellation on. Further, these latest Apple AirPods require only five minutes of charging for about an hour of listening time.
5. Easy, Fast Charging:
To check the charge status, you can place the AirPods Pro wireless charging case on a Qi-certified charger and tap the front of the case. When you’re away from a wireless charger, you can use the lightning port with the USB-C to lightning cable (included), or a USB to lightning cable.
